About Us

The Hawthorns School has been open since 1981. The School has a total of 436 pupils and caters for children from Reception class (Rising 5’s) right through to Year 6 (age 11). Each year group has two parallel classes.

The Hawthorns is a Local Authority Primary School. This means that, although the school’s affairs are primarily the responsibility of the School Governors, we also benefit from the services and support provided by the Local Authority.

"Pupils know staff will help them with their learning and broader needs if they require it. This helps them to feel safe at school."
